Friday, September 16 - Day 2

Bobcat Relay:
The Bobcat Relay is back! This year, it will be held right after school on Tuesday, September 27th. Register with a team of 5-6 people. 
 
Team Registration is today, September 16th, and Tuesday, September 20th in the lobby between 12:00 and 12:20 at lunchtime. Registration pick-up will be on Thursday, September 22nd and Friday September 23rd. Please make sure you return all signed forms at the same time.
 
Please bring your bikes in the morning of Monday, September 26th, or Tuesday, September 27th to the Phys Ed area. Please ensure the bikers are in the Carpentry Lab (Room 133) during lunch the day of the event to have your bikes inspected.


Men’s Soccer:
Please go the Phys Ed area during lunch to receive permission forms and information on the upcoming season from Mr. Laughlin.
 


Student Council:
Yeehaw Bobcats! Help us celebrate international country music day by coming out to the cafeteria TODAY at lunch for country music trivia! There will be prizes! We also want to see your awesome country attire! 
 
Attention to all grade 10 students that put their name forward for student council. We will have a mandatory meeting for you on Tuesday Sept 20 at 11:45 in room 117. 
 
 
BLUEFIELD GOLF TEAM:
The Bluefield Golf Team has been posted on Mr. Carragher’s door (Room 207).  All team members (both men and ladies) are asked to meet in Mr. Carragher’s room at 12 noon today for a VERY important meeting regarding next week’s qualifier.  If you cannot attend during lunch, please see Mr. Carragher before the end of the day.
 
Yearbook: 
There will be a yearbook meeting on Thursday September 22 at 12 noon in room 223 (down from the Foods lab) for any student interested in joining the yearbook committee this year.  
 


The 2021-22 yearbooks have arrived!  A table will be set up in the lobby to hand them out next week on Tuesday September 20 and Wednesday September 21 during lunch.
 
 
Library:
Ms. Coffin is looking for morning Library volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for one or more mornings a week, please see Ms. Coffin in the library. All volunteer time will be tracked and can be used towards Community Service Bursary hours.
 
 
Are you interested in learning one of the fastest growing sports in North America? There will be an information meeting TODAY at noon in Room 203 (Art room) for any students interested in being part of Bluefield's first ever Disc Golf club. You do not have to be an experienced player to join, everyone is welcome. The club will be working on building skills and playing the amazing courses on PEI, as well as playing against other high schools. This is a great activity for anyone who likes hiking, outdoors, and being in nature


Bluefield Art Club will be starting up again Wednesday from 3:30-5 PM in the Art room. You do not have to be a student in art class to be a member of the art club, all are welcome. The art club works on projects which are displayed around the school and in classrooms. There is always good music, good food , and good times.

 

Well-being Wednesdays:
Every Wednesday, 9AM - 12PM
Opportunity of meet with a nurse or social worker to discuss concerns related to well-being such as: stress, anxiety, depression, sexual heath, self harm, thoughts of suicide or other mental health related topics
Student appointments will be arranged in a discreet manner, students can request an appointment by filling out a slip located outside room 236
 
 
 
The Workers Compensation Board (WCB) is seeking two (2) high school students per school to work as a team of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Leaders.
 
As participants, you will each receive $500 when you successfully complete the program.
 
Application to the program is open until Friday, September 30, 2022.
 
 
 
The PEI Soccer Association is hosting the U15 Soccer Club Nationals from Wednesday Oct5th to Monday Oct 10th . We are looking for some volunteers over the 6-day event.   We are looking for the following positions: ticket sellers, ball retrievers, canteen workers, game clock operators and Game Statistics & Data Entry.  These games will be held at UPEI University fields and the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall.
